SRAP’s Terry Spence Receives Missouri Clean Water Award

SRAP Interim Executive Director and longtime regional representative, Terry Spence, was honored by the Missouri Stream Team/Stream Teams United for his near quarter-century of volunteer advocacy and community work on behalf of clean waters for all Missourians.

Spence received the 2017 Missouri Stream Team Ambassador Award for Advocacy, “for serving as an exceptional voice in defense of Missouri’s rivers and streams.” The award event was held July 28th at the Watershed Celebration at Meramec State Park. Stream Teams United executive director Mary Culler made the presentation.

“This is a community effort and I share this award with many committed residents doing the hard work of protecting their homes, their families, their natural resources and their future,” said Spence.  “We all share in the honor of that work.”

Over the course of decades, Spence has traveled hundreds of thousands of miles across the state fighting for clean and safe waterways, sustainable communities, and public health. A lifelong farmer, Spence is the owner and operator of a second-generation family farm in northeast Missouri.
