Citizens & experts to gather October 4th for an informational meeting on the controversial Grand Prairie Agriculture LLP hog operation planned for Ramsey County
DEVILS LAKE, ND ”September 28, 2017 ”Lake Region Concerned Citizens (LRCC), the group formed to oppose the proposed large-scale hog operation in Pelican Township near Devils Lake, will host a public meeting on Wednesday, October 4th at 5:30pm at the Spirit Lake Casino auditorium, six miles south of Devils Lake.
The Family Farms Not Animal Factories forum will be an informative presentation given by several expert speakers who have had first-hand experience with the negative impact industrial-sized hog operations have on communities — their health, their lifestyles and their lives. Guest speakers include:
- Sonja Trom Eayrs | Lawyer & farmer’s daughter
- Tim Culver | Environmental lawyer, Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy
- Jeff Johnson | Professor of Philosophy, St. Catherine University
- Chris Petersen | Independent pig farmer & Regional representative for the national nonprofit, Socially Responsible Agricultural Project
All Ramsey County residents interested in the health, safety and security of their families, homes, environment, natural resources, personal finances and local economy encouraged to attend.
