Biogas is dirty energy, composed mainly of methane—a potent greenhouse gas. Burning biogas releases toxic chemicals that significantly contaminate the air.

Bioenergy Devco is proposing a massive biogas production plant in Sussex County, DE. This community is severely affected by pollution as it is, and the proposed facility further threatens the health and quality of life of residents.

An approval of the project will mean an influx of manure into the county from factory farms all over the tristate area, spurring a large volume of truck traffic. The proposed plant will extract (and contaminate) incredible volumes of water—a critically precious resource in the community, where 90% of the waterways are polluted.
