Nebraska CAFO Permits on Public Notice

Nebraska CAFO National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, Construction and Operating Permits, and Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) revisions are put on public notice for at least 30 days by NDEE. Environmental permits on public notice in Nebraska are listed on the NDEE website.

You can submit a written comment on a permit within the 30-day permit period. All public comments and requests for hearings must be submitted in writing by email to ndee.npdes@nebraska.gov or patrick.ducey@nebraska.gov, or by mail to NPDES and State Permits Section, Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, PO Box 98922, Lincoln, Nebraska 68509-8922.

You can request a public hearing only for NPDES permit applications. A request for a public hearing on an NPDES application must be submitted in writing and must state the nature of the issues proposed to be raised at the hearing. NDEE will make a determination to hold a hearing based on factual environmental or regulatory considerations.
