We’re pleased to welcome Julie Wilson to the SRAP team as our new communications manager!
Having grown up in central Iowa, Julie witnessed the impacts of industrial agriculture firsthand, instilling an ongoing commitment to food systems advocacy. After graduating from Texas State University with a B.S. in geography, she relocated to Austin, Texas, and spent nearly a decade engaged in communications work on topics related to organic agriculture, soil health, animal welfare, and healthy living.
Julie joins our team with experience writing for a variety of high-profile environmental and natural health websites, as well as managing social media networks for environmental nonprofits working to uplift small-scale organic farmers, fight climate change, and promote the humane treatment of farm animals.
In her new role, Julie will lead SRAP’s communications efforts by developing and implementing the organization’s communications, marketing, and public relations strategies.
“I’m both honored and excited to join an organization devoted to exposing the abuses of factory farms,” says Julie. “I look forward to using my skills and experience in nonprofit communications to help elevate SRAP and its mission to protect public health, the environment, and local communities from the damages caused by industrial livestock production.”
